Malpositioning of the right internal jugular central venous cather which lies in the right carotid artery.

For all ICU chest x-rays, the two findings to always consider carefully are pneumothorax and improperly positioned lines.
Remember, even if the “lines and tubes are unchanged” for the past several days, there can still be a persistently stable but malpositioned line.
These findings are favorites for radiology boards examiners and also for malpractice lawyers.
